Patterns in Nature is an ongoing and continuously growing collection that consists of a series of prints
I started cataloguing over a decade ago. Scanning drawings and watercolor paintings from my sketchbooks,
I create layered patterns and title each as a number in the series. Depending on the simplicity of the pattern, some pieces are converted into illustrations which allows me the flexibility to reproduce the image at any size. My work is equal parts paint and pixel and reproduced on paper and canvas.
About
I'm a Graphic Designer/Art Director with a background in Art History and a lifelong passion for painting and illustration. Keeping an active sketchbook is something I believe is integral to my process as a designer and artist. My work is originally created on a small scale in my sketchbooks and later digitized to create layered patterns I call Patterns in Nature. My timeline paints a picture of my experience through the years. It’s my resume, in a nutshell or a nutshell rather of my resume. Experiences are broken down into snippets of my career and demonstrate what led me to become the well-rounded artist/designer-type person I am.
